Overview

The IT infrastructure specialist redesigns and rebuilds the current server system and manages the IT operations for software development. The person will be working with technical professionals on accommodating the essential IT operation needs of a fast-growing connected technologies company.

Duties + Responsibilities

Work Environment

• Work on-site, full time, in an office environment in St Louis, MO
• Communicate directly with the Chief Technology Officer
• Other interactions:
  • Update system as requested by the Directors of Engineering and other engineers
  • Setup workstations for employees

Job Outcomes

• Assess the current IT system, redesign infrastructure, and transfer data
• Rebuild and maintain essential servers, such as email, data storage, and application operation…
• Analyzes system capacity and performance to support problem resolution and enhancements
• Implement high-level security measures to protect intellectual properties and proprietary software
• Design and administer networks for software engineers and operation persons
• Set up work stations for software engineers

Qualifications + Skills

• Position requires hands-on project management, and the individual must be able to execute the entire project lifecycle from concept to deployment
• Interest in staying current with IT technology and learning new skills
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of current server and IT operation hardware and software technologies
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge for equipment system design, build, and maintenance
• High-level computer security skills

Experience + Education

• Has experience building at least a small to medium-sized server system from scratch in the past 2 years
• Well-trained in cybersecurity, and/or has experience managing cybersecurity for businesses
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent level of education; Associates Degree preferred or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
